Campaigns
A campaign is a marketing mechanism that awards points or tickets. Configure it once and qualifying clients receive the reward automatically, with nothing for you to do.

Advanced settings for the birthday gift type:

Three campaign types
| Type | When it fires | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Booking gift | When a client books a specified service | "Book brand consulting and receive a quarterly review ticket" |
| Signup gift | When a client first becomes a member | "300 points for new members" |
| Birthday gift | On the client's birthday, or during their birthday month | "1,000 points in your birthday month" |
Reward types
Whichever the campaign, there are three things you can give:
- Points (offsetting cash on their next booking)
- Tickets (free uses of a specific service)
- Both
Question: When are points better than tickets, and vice versa?
The two tools serve different purposes:
Points suit:
- Building stickiness ("spend another 1,000 and you'll reach 2,000 points, enough for a free consultation")
- Rewarding regulars (points at a cumulative spend threshold)
- Flexibility for the business (clients can use them on any service)
Tickets suit:
- Driving traffic (a free trial ticket for new clients, usable only on the trial service)
- Bundling (book brand consulting, receive a quarterly review ticket — tying two services together)
- Collecting cash up front (selling a package of four quarterly review tickets, paid for at once)
Running both is entirely normal. In the demo data: points for new clients (a 300-point welcome) and tickets for brand consulting (a review ticket).
The demo business's four campaigns
Mingjing Strategy has four enabled:
1. 300 points for a new client's first visit
- Type: signup gift
- Reward: 300 points (1 point offsets 1 in currency)
- Period: from now for one year
Anyone completing their first free diagnostic consultation receives 300 points automatically, offsetting NT$300 on their next paid booking.
2. Brand strategy consulting earns a quarterly review ticket
- Type: booking gift
- Triggering service: in-depth brand strategy consulting
- Reward: 1 quarterly advisory review ticket (worth NT$4,500)
- Validity: 90 days
Booking and completing brand strategy consulting earns one review ticket.
Use case: why give a review ticket for brand consulting?
After a brand consultation, clients usually go away and implement for a while, and that's when they need follow-up so they don't lose their way. But not every client will book the next session unprompted.
Giving them a ticket valid for 90 days says "you already have this — using it is up to you", turning "should I pay to come back?" into "it's already mine; it'd be a waste not to".
Use a ticket rather than points here, because you want the client to come back for this specific follow-up and not spend the points on something else, which would break the follow-up mechanism.
The same structure elsewhere:
- Aesthetics: a post-treatment care ticket after laser (tied to the care service)
- Cram schools: enrolling for the year earns a summer intensive ticket
- Fitness: buying the first 10 sessions earns 2 posture correction sessions (tied to a high-value service)
3. Digital transformation workshop × 2 quarterly follow-ups
- Type: booking gift
- Triggering service: digital transformation workshop
- Reward: 2 quarterly advisory review tickets
- Validity: 1 year
The companion offer to a high-value (NT$18,000) workshop, giving clients the reassurance of six months of support afterwards, which lifts the close rate.
4. 1,000 points in a member's birthday month
- Type: birthday gift
- Issued: 9am on the 1st of their birthday month
- Reward: 1,000 points
Creating a campaign
- Press New campaign
- Choose a type
- Fill in the name and description (clients see these)
- Set the eligible services (blank = all, or restrict to specific ones)
- Set the reward
- Set the validity period
Using "eligible services" on a booking gift
Only bookings of specific services earn the reward.
Use case: rewarding only the service you're pushing
You want to push the digital transformation workshop (your best margin), so you tick only that under eligible services and set the reward to 2 review tickets. Which gives:
- Booking a free diagnostic: no reward
- Booking brand consulting: 1 review ticket
- Booking the digital transformation workshop: 2 review tickets
Clients see "book the digital transformation workshop and receive 2 review tickets" on the booking page, which steers the purchase.
Elsewhere:
- Aesthetics: skincare products only with high-value treatments
- Tutoring: a trial lesson only with a long-term course
- Legal: a free phone consultation only on signing a retainer
Birthday gift settings
Birthday gifts can be issued two ways:
| Mode | When it's issued |
|---|---|
| On the day | At a set time on their birthday |
| During the month | On a given day of their birthday month (the 1st by default) |
Question: Which is better, the day or the month?
It depends on your goal:
- On the day: the strongest feeling at the moment they receive it ("you remembered my birthday"), but they may have no time to book that day
- During the month: they have a whole month to plan a visit, which typically produces a higher return rate
Most businesses choose during the month with a generous amount (1,000 points ≈ NT$1,000), which works best.
Worth knowing: a 1,000-point birthday gift typically produces 3–5 times the revenue of a 300-point one — because clients come in order to use those 1,000 points, and once in the door they routinely upgrade to a higher-value service.
Expiring vs. disabling a campaign
Each campaign can be:
- Given an end date (letting it finish naturally)
- Disabled manually (paused)
- Deleted (removing the record permanently)
Note: rewards already issued are not clawed back
Disabling a campaign leaves points and tickets already given to clients on their accounts; it only stops new clients receiving them.
To revoke a specific ticket, go to that client's profile and revoke it by hand. It's rarely used and generally not advised — clients take it badly.
Don't change the reward partway through a campaign
Once a campaign is live and clients have claimed it, changing the reward amount midway creates the unfair situation where early claimants got 100 points and later ones got 200.
If you must change it, the recommended route is: disable the old campaign and create a new one to replace it, which keeps the history clean.
